Edmonton’s Top Gold Buyer

Superior Service, Free Evaluations, Competitive Offers

Pawn shops do buy gold…and appliances, firearms, hi fi equipment, musical instruments, etc., etc. Canada Gold in Edmonton deals primarily with precious metals in the form of jewellery or bullion.  It’s who we are and what we do.  We can accurately asses the value of your gold (or silver or platinum) because that’s our area of specialization.  Our margins on gold sales are extremely low and our buying prices are usually the best you’ll find, so we have to be accurate to stay in business.  Our rate of repeat customers is a testament to how we ensure our customers know exactly what they have and how much it’s worth when they come in to sell.

If you want to sell gold in Edmonton, we encourage you to visit one of our two locations in the city and get a free, no obligation quote in writing. You can sell to us, get a second opinion elsewhere or decide not to sell and leave with what you brought in.  There is never any pressure from our staff for you to part with your valuables.  That’s a decision that should only be made by you once you know what we’re willing to pay.

What’s My Gold Worth?

Gold prices change continuously throughout the day. At all Canada Gold locations, including our two Edmonton stores, our buying prices are based on real-time exchange market rates at the time we perform your evaluation. This ensures you receive an offer that is predicated on how gold is performing now, not a day, week, month or year ago.

Gold bullion from recognized mints has standardized values for coins and bars. For other forms of gold like jewelry, we use our industry standard testing procedures to assess both the karat purity and the actual gold weight at that purity level. These measurements, in addition to the current market price for gold, determine our purchase offer.

There are some items made of gold that have value beyond the karat purity and weight.  As an example, an extremely rare gold coin that a collector might covet can be worth more than it’s value as melted down gold.  We have extensive experience dealing with rare and highly coveted gold items.  When customers bring in rare or special items, our written offers reflect the additional value and we provide you with information on why the item has a value beyond its face value.
